Tour description
10.00 Pick-up at the Hotel with coach or van and guide.
Begin the panoramic drive through the city up to Fjaellgatan for our first photo stop where you will have a magnificent view over the city.
10.45 Visit the City Hall. This is not just only Stockholm’s political centre but also the venue where the famous Nobel banquet takes place in December every year. It’s also an impressive building with lots of historic references and art.
11.30 Continue the panoramic tour passing highlights like the Square of Gustavus ll Adolphus, the Royal Opera House, Kungstraedgaarden, the Parliament and the baroque Royal Palace.
12.00 Visit the medieval Old Town and we will have the opportunity to watch the changing of the guards in the outer courtyard of the Royal Palace. This is a 500 year old tradition when the royal guards come riding on horses or marching to music (some days) all the way from the other side of city up to the Royal Palace.
12.45 Time for lunch at a prechosen restaurant in Old Town. A delicious lunch menu incl. bread and salad buffet. Lunch includes also 1 soft drink / juice per person.
13.45 We drive along Strandvaegen, the most elegant boulevard in the city, passing the Royal Dramatic Theatre and exclusive residences on one side and rows of white excursion boats on the other. We will soon reach the Diplomatic area and the island of Djurgaarden, the world’s first national city park. Here you have lots of attractions, museums and palaces.
14.00 Visit the Vasa Museum and see the best preserved 17th century sailing warship in the world! She sank on her maiden voyage 1628 and was salvaged 333 years later. This is now the city’s most visited museum, a must see!
15.00 Driving through the posh area Oestermalm on our way back to the city centre.
15.30 Boarding the excursion boat on Stroemkajen for a 50 minutes Royal Canal Tour for a scenery tour around Stockholm’s greener parts.
16.30 On our way back to the hotel we will drive through one of the most popular shopping areas.
17.00 Back at the hotel the tour is finished. Hope you had a wonderful day and enjoyed the tour!
